The Holocaust and the American Theater 1933-1965 (and beyond)

Using photographs, audio and video files, this presentation will cover the response of the American Theater to the Holocaust. The program will begin in the early 1930s, and continue through the post-war era where there was a renewed interest in depicting those terrible years through performance art. A few works post-1965 will also be discussed including works on Broadway this season. (2024) There will also be a mention of refugees who fled to America from Europe and used their artistic talents to warn the world of what was happening.
