Dalia Wassner, Ph.D. is the Director of the Brandeis Initiative on the Jews of the Americas. Dr. Wassner is a historian whose research and teaching is dedicated to broadening the academic fields of Jewish Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies and Diaspora Studies. She is the author of Harbinger of Modernity: Marcos Aguinis and the Democratization of Argentina (Boston: Brill, 2014), is guest-editor of the inaugural issue of Latin American Jewish Studies, and has published her scholarship in numerous academic journals including Contemporary Jewry, Iberian and Latin American Studies, Latin American Jewish Studies, Latin American Research Review, and Modern Jewish Studies. Dr. Wassner serves on the Boards of Directors of the Latin American Jewish Studies Association and the Association for the Social Scientific Study of Jewry, as well as the Editorial Board of the Shalvi/Hyman Encyclopedia of Jewish Women in the field of Latin America.
