Jacob Sacher

Jacob Sacher is an award winning comedian and Jewish Studies researcher from Melbourne, Australia. His most recent special, Promising Young Mensch, explored his upbringing in the ultra orthodox Chabad community, and was nominated for Best Comedy at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. His research explores the Yiddish comedy archetype of the Schlemiel, and investigates how it found its way onto mainstream television shows of the 21st century. Jacob is the 2025 recipient of the Doris & David Burstin Yiddish Education Scholarship. Jacob is currently a Graduate Student at Monash University.
