Professor Pamela Nadell holds the Patrick Clendenen Chair in Women’s and Gender History at American University. Her book America’s Jewish Women: A History from Colonial Times to Today won the 2019 National Jewish Book Award’s “Jewish Book of the Year.” She received a National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars Award for her next book Antisemitism, an American Tradition to be published by W.W. Norton in fall 2025. Past president of the Association for Jewish Studies, she is a member of the Advisory Committee for the museum planned for the rebuild of Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue. She has testified before Congress three times, most recently as the fourth witness in the December 2023 Congressional hearing with the presidents or Harvard, UPenn, and MIT.am
