Dr. Slucki is an author and historian specializing in twentieth century Jewish history, popular culture, and memoir writing. His work looks particularly at the aftermath of the Holocaust, focusing on how survivors rebuilt their lives in different contexts. In 2019, he published a multi-generational family memoir describing the story of my own family spanning four generations, and recently co-edited a volume on the intersection between humor and Holocaust memory and representation.
He is currently working on a book project looking at Holocaust survivors in different countries and the ways in which they collectively conceptualized their Holocaust experiences. Dr. Slucki is also working on projects that investigate different aspects of Jewish life in Melbourne.
